About the Author
Michael Raleigh is the author of five mysteries set in Chicago and featuring detective Paul Whelan, as well as three other novels. He is Professor Emeritus of the City Colleges, where he taught Composition, Literature, and Chicago History. He currently teaches in the First Year Writing and Honors Programs at DePaul University. His novel THE RIVERVIEW MURDERS won the Eugene Izzi Award for best crime novel by a Chicago Writer, and he has been the recipient of four Illinois Arts Council awards for fiction. He is married with three children, and lives not far from the setting of the five Paul Whelan novels.

This is a real page turner, filled with authentic sounding details, plot twists, and a fast-paced narrative. Raleigh knows Chicago's seedy neighborhoods and a great deal about the intricacies of crime (I learned how to pick a lock!). An enjoyable read.

Michael Raleigh hits another home run with this book!

I love Michael Raleigh's books. Although this was not a Paul Whelan detective novel, it easily could have been written that way. I love these books because they take place on Chicago's north side. Not only is the setting well done but the character presentation and development is excellent. You feel like you've known these people all your life.The plot moves along well and you are never bored. I also like the little twist or surprise at the end of each book. This book is no different and keeps your interest to the end. It is a book you will find hard to put done.

About the Author
David Augsburger is the author of 20 books on pastoral counseling, marriage, conflict and human relations. He is a professor of pastoral counseling at Fuller Theological Seminary, and has also taught at seminaries in Chicago, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. For over a decade, he served as radio spokesperson for the Mennonite Churches, and he has written feature articles that have appeared in over 100 different periodicals. An ordained minister of the Mennonite Church and a diplomat of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, Augsburger leads workshops internationally.

A superb guide to working anger for Christians

David Augsburger, professor of pastoral care in a Christian seminary, helps Christian people to explore the nature of anger and a range of ways to work with this powerful emotion. He has created a very helpful chart that offers five different ways of moving toward resolution (when the time comes) each offering a range of caring and confronting. They include choosing my way, your way, no way, compromise, or creative effforts to discover our way. Augsburger explores how the Bible encourages both assertiveness and caring and helps the reader to find their own path, blending the two.

Free from the guilt of Confrontation

Execllent book! Growing up, I was under the impression that confrontation was a negative thing - that if I confronted a person about an issue then that meant I was a bad person for having poor or hurt feelings. After I read "Caring Enough to Confront" I understood that confrontation could acutally be a positive response to negative behavior. I highly reccommend this book for anyone suffering from the confrontation jitters.

This book really helps those of us at times that have had to confront and have felt guilty for doing so.
Caring and confronting together provide the balance of Love and Power which lead to effective human relationships.
Like anything else there is a time for caring and a time for confronting. Each in it's own time. Care when caring is called for and confront when confrontation is required.
Excellent Book for help in knowing how and when to care-front :)

Great Oral Board Prep

I found this to be the best book to use in preparation for the oral boards. It helps to think and use it like a mock oral by reading the questions first, constructing your answer and reading Yao's answer. If you really want to get the most bang for the buck, do this with another person also studying for orals, taking turns as examiner. Really will hone your skills.
